Fri. & Sat. and we finished the visit off today with a game of Golf, only the second time since we returned from stateside, enough said about the golf, we didn't do too well, but it was great to be out in the fresh air and the exersize is good especially after all we have eaten over the Christmas period. Thankyou Scott. for the blog address, I shall be searching for it regularly. All for now, Grick.

Sad day

Hi, Well, quite miserable day weatherwise capped with a visit a long time buddy in Sheffields' cancer hospital, Barry, we've known each other since we were young lads and worked together at Rampton Hosp. for many years. He is very poorly and at the moment is bedridden, it is terrible to see such a once dynamic chap in that stat, we shall continue to pray for him. Well, it's nice to know that I have two lovely ladies having a contest to see who can comment on my blog first, keep it up, I'm terribly flattered. I still don't have Scotts blog address, so if somebody would let me have it I would be much obliged. Oh, Sue, how do I delete my out of date blogs. Signing off, Grick.

Boxing day

Hi everyone, Well it's Boxing day, 26th December, for those of you in the US of A you don't celebrate this, I think it originates from the old days when the day after Christmas day the servants of the house were given their Christmas (Boxes) and were served by the aristocracy with their Christmas dinner. Hence Boxing Day. Sounds as if it could be true does't it. Well we spent the day with Simon, Wendy, Thomas and Amy and had a lovely day. Today we have been over to Southwell to Thelma and Graemes (Robs mum and her Husband) and had a beautiful Buffet style Lunch. Susie and Andrew and their respective spouses were also there as were Cameron and Rowan Robs two sons. I read your comment Sue and I'm so glad that Gary sounds as if he is doing well. It also sounds as if you are doing very well with your photography and I hope the shoot goes well for you. Speak to y'all soon. Grick.

Me again

Hi there, Well I didn't have any clients on Thursday, (by design) so June and I had a lovely trip by public transport to Doncaster, (using our free bus pass) finished our Christmas shopping and had a lovely day out. The carol singing round the Christmas tree on the village green went very well but it was very cold, June of course didn't go as she still has no singing voice, (she now is able to talk and don't I know it). We went out yesterday for Christmas dinner with Zoe and Emily (friends) but I'm afraid it was very disappointing and we complained to the management about it and got gor £5 a head knocked off the bill which made us feel a little better and last night we went to Margarets for the evening which was very enjoyable. Today we did the last shopping of all before Christmas. Be back soon, Grick.

I'm back

Hi to y'all, It seems ages since I blogged last. Well last week seemed to just fly by and here we are in another new week. Last tues. wed. and thurs. June and I worked as usual and June finished on Thursday for Christmas, I shall be working the three days this week then I finish for Christmas on Thursday. Last week we, (the choir) rehearsed for our service of Carols and nine lessons which was on Sunday night, June still had no voice (so did'nt sing) but I just managed to squeak out some tenor notes. The service is one of my personal favourites of the year. June and I managed to have our first game of golf since our return from stateside, that was yesterday but the performance if you can call it that, was abysmal to say the least and that is speaking for the both of us.. Hope all you bloggers are keeping well and keeping noses to the blogwheel, speak to you soon. Grick Therablog.

Sunday

Hi to y'all, Sorry we have not blogged for a day or two but we have just acquired a wireless keyboard and mouse for Junes computer (the one we do all our internet work on) and I couldn't get it to work. Eventually after a whole lot of reading of instructions an'all and juggling about we have got it working okay. Unfortunately our colds are hanging on and June can hardly speak. We were involved in a local Church concert on Friday evening, I played guitar in a sea shanty type outfit, (I was standing in because their guitarist had broken his elbow) I as always did a humerous monologue and sang in the choir. June of course would have sung in the choir but she had no voice (it's been very quiet and peaceful for a couple of days) but she accompanied one of her pupils who sang a couple of pieces, it was a lovely evening. Today has been our family service in Church where we get the children to get involved by reading the lessons, playing their chosen instrument or maybe reciting a poem or even sometimes a dramatised reading involving several children. On this Christmas service we appeal to children who have toys they have finished with that are in good condition to donate them for deprived children in Romania who would otherwise have no Chistmas presents. It is surprising how many toys we get in this way and consequently help in this way. All for now, Grick.

Update

Hi, Well there is little to say about today except we started back at work, June has now started with a sore throat so it looks like she has taken it from me, it was choir practise tonight for the Christmas concert on Friday and I have got roped in to play guitar in an occarina sea shanty type outfit because the regular guitarist has broken his elbow, well it should be fun, I've never played this kind of music before, well, wish me luck. So long for now to y'all.

Just a quick update, We arrived home in Engalnd at about 9-30am local time and collected Penny from the kennels first job. She was ecstatic to see us in spite of having great time with Shane and Julie. Temperature is about 42 fahrenheit, a little warmer than Minnesota, (thank
